As its name suggests it, this area abounds with farms and agricultural lands presenting rich soils suitable for animal breeding and fruit and vegetable growing. This area is also wealthy of its diversified historic heritage of mills and plains. The site historique de l’Île-des-Moulins is a good example of these mills.

The beautiful country scenery of this region conceals many tasty and beautiful things. Visitors can now enjoy the tourist map Les Chemins de campagne, which will guide them from one gourmet attraction to the other. Whether it is La Voie lactée cheese factory in l’Assomption or the Courgerie in Sainte-Élizabeth, you will find something with which to fill your stomach. This area encompasses 25 cities and villages, including Charlemagne, which is the birthplace of Céline Dion, a singer known throughout the world.
