No one can pass the Musée Gilles-Villeneuve over in silence, especially those who are fond of car races. Gilles Villeneuve spent his childhood in Berthierville and when he started competing in F1, he won his first victory in Montréal, only a few kilometres from his native town. It was during the 1978 Canada Grand Prix.

Only four years later, on May 8, 1982, his carreer in the F1 came to an abrupt end. An accident during the second day of the qualifications of the Belgium Grand Prix in Zolder was fatal to him. To make Villeneuve's exceptional carreer known, Berthierville opened a museum dedicated to his great achievements. A section of the museum is even devoted to his son Jacques, who is himself an F1 champion.
