Concealed between the Laurentides and Lanaudière regions, the réserve faunique Rouge-Matawin is a place where time seems to stop. On this territory, moose, white-tailed deer, black bears, lynx, as well as a large number of birds live together well. The preserve is located right by the parc national du Mont-Tremblant and is crossed by two rivers: the Rouge and the Matawin rivers. It also conceals more than 400 lakes on its 1,394-km2 territory.
In these rivers, you can go fishing for northern pike and smallmouth bass, among other species. Visitors can take advantage of the wide range of activities offered in the park, like camping, canoeing, hunting, fishing, or ice fishing and snowmobiling in winter. The réserve faunique Rouge-Matawin is a relaxing place in the heart of the forest.
