Seventy-two kilometres from Saint-Michel-des-Saints, you will find the Amerindian reservation of Manawan, which is home to almost 2,000 Attikameks. Once a nomad people, this First Nation has been living on this territory since 1650. However, the reservation was created only in 1906. Nowadays, they mainly live off woodcutting, traditional handicrafts and more and more from tourism. The outfitters as well as the 1,300 kilometres of snowmobiling paths have been built in the region over the last few years. Something outdoor lovers will enjoy!
