Open from May to October

Heaven on Earth

The réserve faunique Mastigouche, which is located on the border of the Mauricie and Lanaudière regions covers a vast territory of more than 1,500 km2. An uncountable number of mammals, fish and birds live here in the heart of nature. More than 400 lakes and rivers add up to the magnificent landscapes visitors can observe year round. If you like canoe-camping, you will truly enjoy the lakes of this preserve.

If you prefer hiking, more than 40 kilometres of paths in the woods await you. You can also take advantage of the numerous rivers to swim during a warm summer day. Fishers will be able to fish in more than 130 lakes. If you prefer hunting, you can hunt moose and small game in the fall season. In spring, you can hunt for black bears. Do not forget to buy your permit!

In winter, this wildlife preserve awaits you with its snowmobile paths that provide a great playground to amateurs. If you follow the paths, you can visit the region and even some of the bordering regions. You can also admire the beautiful landscapes of the preserve or the animals who dare stay for the winter. A real pleasure and nature oasis.
